Millwood Lake

Just a short drive from Texarkana, Arkansas, Millwood Lake provides visitors a variety of outdoor activities. The lake spans over 29,000 acres and has numerous surrounding recreational parks offering picnic areas, campsites, boat ramps and hiking trails.

Millwood State Park, located at the southern point of the lake, is a favorite spot for nature enthusiasts due its bird watching opportunities. Over 300 of Arkansas’s 400 bird species on record have been sighted in the park and it has been designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society. Other wildlife commonly seen around the lake include white-tailed deer, beavers, fox and armadillo.

In addition to wildlife on land, Millwood Lake is a prime fishing destination. While fishermen may find themselves catching catfish and crappie, the lake is most known for providing some of the best bass fishing opportunities in the country.

For visitors who want to land a trophy-sized bass, Millwood Lake Guide Service offers guided fishing trips that are fun for both beginners and seasoned veterans alike. As part of your trip, the guide service will supply tackle, snacks, drinks, photography and even assist with lodging reservations if needed. Full day trips, half day trips, and “run-n-gun” fishing trips are available as well as wildlife and bird watching tours.

Millwood Lake Guide Service regularly works with conservation groups such as the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission to enhance the natural beauty and resources of the lake and has also written weekly fishing reports for AGFC for over 25 years.
