The leaves are dropping and so is the temperature, which means it’s finally fall in Texarkana, Arkansas! We’ve got a new event lineup for this season, including lots of art, concerts, and other fun activities.

Taryn Ashley & Chance Rains at Fat Jack’s Oyster & Sports Bar - September 30

Patio Pup Photo Contest by the Texarkana, Arkansas A&P Commission – October 1

Submit a photo of your dog (the cutest one you can get) to see if they have what it takes to be our first ever Patio Pup! Feel free to use any of the patios, parks, or landmarks in Texarkana, AR, as the backdrop for your dog’s photo. The entry period runs from Friday, October 1st through Saturday, October 23rd. Dusty Rose Band at Whiskey River Country - October 15

As always, Whiskey River is a popular destination for country singers and bands, so be sure to catch the Dusty Rose Band’s concert on October 15 at 10:30 p.m. For updates and a full lineup of concerts, check out the Whiskey River Facebook page.

Pop-Up Art Show at the Joseph Raymond Fine Art Gallery - October 21-23

Joseph Raymond is hosting a solo show at his own gallery the third weekend in October. The event is free to the public, and you can see his work on his Instagram. The show will be on display from 6:00-9:00 p.m. each day.

Peak Fighting MMA Event at The Hideout - October 23

Peak Fighting will host their PF16 event at The Hideout at 311 E Broad Street. This will be an action-packed night of MMA fighting you can watch live. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and the fights start at 5:00 p.m. Learn more at www.peakfighting.com/event/PF16.

Revolution Barrel Racing Finale IV - October 22-24

Revolution Barrel Racing is kicking off its weekend of events at the Four States Fairground with a last chance qualifier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 22. Saturday and Sunday’s schedules include a 4D race, a future champs 10 and under division, youth and senior sidepot incentives, and a vintage barrel racing costume contest. Four States Auto Museum Car Show - October 30

The Four States Auto Museum is hosting its annual car show on Halloween weekend, and the event includes $5 antique car rides, a concession stand and homemade desserts, a live band, and a 50/50 money raffle. Registration is $25, and attendees are encouraged to dress for Halloween. Halloween Costume Contest at Fat Jack’s Oyster & Sports Bar - October 30

If you don’t have your Halloween costume picked out, now’s the time to figure it out! Have the best costume at Fat Jack’s costume contest and you can win a cash prize. Follow Fat Jack’s on Facebook to keep up with updates.

Walk to Fight Suicide - November 14

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is hosting its Out of the Darkness Walk on November 14 at Bobby Ferguson Park. Registration for the event opens at 12:30 p.m. and the event will last from 1:15-4:00 p.m. Visit the AFSP Facebook page or its website to learn more.

2022 Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Competition - November 14

Part of the Miss Arkansas organization, the 2022 Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Competition is set for November 14 at 5:00 p.m. The competition will take place at Arkansas High School, and you can follow the Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Facebook page for updates about the event.

Pop-Up Art Show - November 19-20

The Joseph Raymond Fine Art Gallery is hosting metal workers Jared Horton and Jerome Legrande on November 19-20. The showcase is free, and the artists’ works will be on display from 6:00-8:00 both nights. For more information, check out the gallery’s website.

Jed Harrelson at Whiskey River Country - November 26

Jed Harrelson joins the lineup of performers at Whiskey River this fall, performing at 10:00 p.m. on November 26. Follow Whiskey River’s Facebook page for updates and a full schedule of this fall’s performances.

Monthly Events

Downtown Live - October 8 and November 12

On the Second Friday of each month, Main Street Texarkana and Joseph Raymond Fine Art host Downtown Live. Broad Street in downtown Texarkana is abuzz with activity as artists perform live from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Watch as artists paint, draw, and dance, plus enjoy live music and food, drinks, and desserts from local Texarkana restaurants. It all takes place in the heart of the Rail Yard Entertainment District.

2nd Saturday Trade Days - October 9 and November 13

On the second Saturday of each month, the 1894 Gallery hosts a trade day. Various vendors are onsite selling handcrafted items starting at 10:00 a.m., and the event usually ends around 3:00 p.m. For more information, check out the event on the 1894 Gallery’s Facebook page.
